I first made this pie for a family reunion where everyone was craving something sweet and unexpected. The crunchy peanuts and fizzy cola twist made it an instant favorite among pie lovers of all ages.
Ingredients
- Chocolate cookie crumbs: 1 1/2 cups
- Unsalted butter: 1/4 cup melted
- Cream cheese: 1 (8 oz) package softened
- Creamy peanut butter: 1/2 cup
- Powdered sugar: 1/2 cup
- Heavy whipping cream: 1 cup
- Cola soda (not diet): 1/4 cup chilled
- Snickers bars: 3 full-size chopped
- Caramel sauce: 1/4 cup
- Chocolate sauce: 1/4 cup
- Salted peanuts: 1/4 cup roughly chopped
- Whipped cream: Optional for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the crust:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
- Bake and cool:
- Bake the crust for 8 minutes. Cool completely before filling.
- Prepare the filling:
- In a large bowl beat cream cheese peanut butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Whip and fold:
- In a separate bowl whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
- Add cola soda:
- Gently stir in the chilled cola soda until fully incorporated.
- Fill the crust:
- Spread the filling evenly into the cooled crust.
- Add toppings:
- Sprinkle chopped Snickers bars and salted peanuts over the filling. Drizzle with caramel and chocolate sauces.
- Refrigerate:
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Garnish:
- Before serving garnish with whipped cream if desired.
