I first made this butter board dessert for a summer brunch, and my guests couldn&t believe how easy and fun it was. The swirled cream cheese and vibrant toppings made for a beautiful centerpiece.

Ingredients

  • Flavoured Cream Cheese: 250 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened, 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract, Zest of 1 small lemon (optional)
  • Toppings: 150 g (1 cup) mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries), 2 tbsp chopped toasted pistachios or almonds, 1 tbsp dried edible rose petals (optional), 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips or shavings, 2 tbsp granola (optional), 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves, torn
  • To Serve: 1 French baguette or loaf of brioche, sliced and lightly toasted, Extra honey or maple syrup, for drizzling

Instructions

Whip Cream Cheese:
In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and lemon zest (if using) until smooth and fluffy.
