# Method:

01 - Whisk together milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan until smooth.
02 - Place over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.

05 - Remove from heat and stir in unsalted butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
06 - Divide pudding into serving glasses or bowls and allow to cool at room temperature for 10 minutes or chill for at least 1 hour as preferred.
07 - Sprinkle crushed Oreos generously over each portion and top with whipped cream if desired before serving.
