# What you'll need:

→ Chocolate Layers

01 - 7 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
02 - 7 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped

→ Peppermint Topping

03 - 6 peppermint candy canes or hard peppermint candies, crushed (about 1/2 cup)

→ Optional

04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract

# Method:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or arrange 12 silicone snowflake molds.
02 - Melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between each until smooth, or use a double boiler.
03 - If desired, incorporate 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted dark chocolate and mix thoroughly.
04 - Pour the melted dark chocolate into molds or spread evenly to 1/4-inch thickness on the baking sheet and gently tap to level.
05 - Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until firm.
06 - Melt the white chocolate in a clean bowl using the same method, adding 1/4 tsp peppermint extract if preferred.
07 - Pour the melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate layer, spreading evenly with a small offset spatula.
08 - Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies over the white chocolate, pressing lightly to adhere.
09 - Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until fully set.
10 - Remove from molds or break into snowflake pieces and store in an airtight container in a cool place.
