This recipe combines simple steps with vibrant flavors for a meal that’s sure to impress.

Recipe Guide

How do I ensure the steak is tender and flavorful?

Pat the steak dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic before searing in hot olive oil. Add fresh thyme and rosemary near the end for infused flavors and let the steak rest to retain juices.

What’s the best way to roast butternut squash evenly?

Cut the squash into uniform cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper, then spread them evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet before roasting at 400°F until golden and tender.

Can I swap the butternut squash for another vegetable?

Yes, sweet potatoes make a great alternative, offering a similar sweetness and texture when roasted alongside the steak.

How should the steak be sliced for serving?

Allow the steak to rest at least 5 minutes after cooking, then slice thinly against the grain to maximize tenderness and flavor.

What herbs complement the flavors in this dish?

Fresh thyme and rosemary add aromatic, earthy notes that enhance both the steak and butternut squash, balancing richness with herbal brightness.

Can I prepare this dish ahead of time?

Roasting the squash and searing the steak ahead can save time, but for best taste serve soon after assembly to preserve textures and freshness.
