I made this board for a family fall get-together, and everyone loved building their own bites with unexpected pairings. The variety makes it a wonderful centerpiece and conversation starter.
Ingredients
- Prosciutto: 120 g
- Smoked turkey breast: 120 g, sliced
- Spicy soppressata: 100 g
- Sliced salami: 100 g
- Aged cheddar: 150 g, cubed
- Creamy brie: 150 g, sliced
- Blue cheese: 100 g, crumbled
- Goat cheese: 100 g, log or medallions
- Apple: 1 large, sliced
- Pear: 1 ripe, sliced
- Dried figs: 100 g, halved
- Red grapes: 100 g, separated into small clusters
- Pomegranate: 1 small, seeded
- Fennel bulb: 1 small, thinly sliced
- Baby carrots: 1 handful
- Roasted pumpkin seeds (pepitas): 1 handful
- Candied pecans: 1 handful
- Fig jam: 3 tbsp
- Whole grain mustard: 2 tbsp
- Honey: 2 tbsp
- Baguette: 1 small, sliced
- Multigrain crackers: 100 g
- Gluten-free crackers: 100 g, optional
Instructions
- Select board:
- Select a large wooden board or platter. Build the board directly before serving for maximum freshness.
- Arrange cheeses:
- Arrange cheeses in different corners to anchor the board.
- Add meats:
- Fold or roll meats and place them in small clusters throughout the board.
- Add fruits:
- Fan out apple and pear slices. Scatter grapes, figs, and pomegranate seeds for bursts of color.
- Add vegetables:
- Nestle fennel slices and baby carrots between other ingredients.
- Place condiments:
- Fill small bowls with fig jam, mustard, and honey. Place them on the board.
- Add breads and crackers:
- Add baguette slices, crackers, and gluten-free options in open spaces.
- Finish with accents:
- Sprinkle with roasted pumpkin seeds and candied pecans for crunch and autumn flair.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately, encouraging guests to mix and match ingredients.
