Probiotic Soda Mocktail Citrus Herbs (Printer View)

Lightly sparkling probiotic soda with citrus juices and herbs. Refreshing for summer and good for gut health.

# What you'll need:

→ Probiotic Base

01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

→ Flavoring

05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices
09 - Ice cubes

# Method:

01 - In a thoroughly cleaned glass jar, dissolve the organic cane sugar in filtered water. Add water kefir grains or ginger bug and fresh lemon juice, then stir gently using a non-metallic spoon.
02 - Cover the jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter and secure with a rubber band. Let ferment at room temperature, ideally between 68–77°F, for 24–48 hours, until the mixture becomes slightly fizzy and tangy.
03 - Remove kefir grains or ginger bug by straining with a fine mesh strainer. Discard or reserve the cultures for your next batch.
04 - In a pitcher, combine the probiotic soda base with fresh orange juice, fresh lime juice, and mint leaves. Stir gently to blend.
05 - Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour over the soda mocktail mixture, and garnish each glass with an orange slice and additional mint if desired.
06 - Serve promptly to enjoy optimal fizz and freshness.
